Dongguan aluminum profile pitting corrosion, also known as hole corrosion, is a very localized corrosion pattern that produces needle-like, point-like, and hole-like shapes on metal. Pitting corrosion is a unique form of anode reaction and is an autocatalytic process. According to the manufacturers of aluminum profile connectors, pitting of aluminum can occur in the atmosphere, fresh water, or neutral aqueous solutions, and severely can cause perforations, but corrosion holes may eventually stop developing and the amount of corrosion will remain at a limit.
The pitting corrosion of Dongguan aluminum profiles is related to dielectric alloys such as chloride ions and fluoride ions to the limit. There must also be substances that promote the cathode reaction, such as dissolved oxygen in aqueous solutions, copper ions, and the like. The severity of corrosion is determined by the relative position of the two metal potential sequences. Crevice corrosion has little to do with alloy type, and even very corrosion-resistant alloys can produce crevice corrosion. The acidic environment at the top of the crevice is the driving force for corrosion. Sub-sediment corrosion is a form of crevice corrosion.
